LOOKBOOK: OBESITY AND SPEED

LOOKBOOK: OBESITY AND SPEED

You'll die for the skulls, studs, and skinny jeans from this It Girl-loving label.

If you’ve got a penchant for skulls, a thing for studs, or a love for cheetah print, you’ll be happy with the Obesity & Speed fall ’09 collection. Very happy.

For fall, things get a bit darker for the already-edgy label. Tees have slogans like “Even Death Can Die”, tanks have screenprinted skulls, and tops are so threadbare, they look like they’re made of cobwebs. In short, we die.

It’s no surprise, considering the New York City-based brand’s clientele: It Girls (like lookbook model Isabelle McNally), rock bands (like the Horrors), and the style-aware (like those who shop at Urban Outfitters and Earnest Sewn, which have both collaborated with the brand).

In fact, the brand will be setting up camp—albeit briefly—at the Earnest Sewn stores in Manhattan later this month. The pop-up shop, which runs from July through September, features some of the brand’s trademark looks. Body-con dresses, ripped tees, and perfectly-cut skinny jeans are just a few of our favorites.

Just don't forget the bad attitude when you wear it.
